'Atypical' Renewed For For Fourth And Final Season

Sorry, Atypical fans, but it seems you're going to be stuck with an ending to a show you love pretty soon. But hey, look on the bright side, at least you got an ending! Some shows don't even get that luxury!

So, you know, just sit back and be grateful.

Four long years.

Netflix

That's how long Atypical will have been on Netflix for.

It came out in 2017, and it's going to end in 2021 with a fourth and final season. Truly, it is tragic.

But to paraphrase the words of the wise philosopher Nelly Furtado: "all good things must come to an end".

And hey, it was a fun ride wasn't it? Following Sam's journey, asking the question: "what does it mean to be normal?"

Hey, Atypical's creator, Robia Rashad, sure had a good time with the show.

“I’m thrilled we’ll be doing a season four of Atypical,”

Netflix

“And while I’m so sad to be nearing the end of this series, I am extremely grateful to have been able to tell this story. Our fans have been such beautiful, vibrant supporters of this show."

"Thank you for being so open to Sam’s voice and stories, and those of the entire Gardner family."

Netflix

"It’s my hope that the legacy of Atypical is that more unheard voices continue to be heard and that even after this series ends, we keep telling funny, emotional stories from underrepresented points of view.”

We all hope that too.
