Apple Won't Let Movie Villains Use iPhones

In a surprising twist, it seems that Apple does not want their phones being to be by bad guys in movies.

Perhaps this is to show that only good, moral people use iPhones, or maybe they just don't want their brand associated with evil.

Either way, you won't see a bad guy using an iPhone in a movie.

Rian Johnson did an interview with Vanity Fair the other day where he broke down one of the scenes in his now-famous murder-mystery, "Knives Out".

He gave all sorts of great little details about the scene.

But there was one piece of information that stood out.

Lionsgate Films

Apple, the giant megacorporation behind the iPhone, doesn't want bad guys to use iPhones in movies.

There was no answer as to why, but we can all probably guess.

In his own words:

"I don't know if I should say this or not."

"Apple ... they let you use iPhones in movies but -- and this is very pivotal if you're ever watching a mystery movie -- bad guys cannot have iPhones on camera."

He also lamented possibly spoiling twist bad guys in movies:

Netflix

"Oh no, every single filmmaker that has a bad guy in their movie that's supposed to be a secret wants to murder me right now".

Well, as long as it's not a contemporary film, you may be alright Rian.
