Robert Pattinson Has 'Terror Memories Of The Paparazzi' Because Of 'Twilight'

It's 2008. The first Twilight just came out, every 13-year-old girl is either #TeamEdward or #TeamJacob, and "Decode" by Paramore is the most important song on your MP3 player. Life is good.

But little did we know, for Robert Pattinson, it was nightmare.

It has been 12 years since "Twilight" hit theaters and changed our lives forever.

Whether you loved the Twilight saga or hated it, there's no denying it was a game changer in pop culture.

While it may have impacted pre-teens everywhere at the time, it most definitely impacted anyone who was apart of the films.

It really put people like Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Robert Pattinson on the map, setting the tone for the rest of their careers.

But at the time, I can only imagine the number of screaming fans and paparazzi that incessantly followed the cast members around was overwhelming.

And for Robert Pattinson, it was actually a bit traumatizing.

In a recent interview with British GQ, Robert admitted that he still has "terror memories" of the paparazzi because of "Twilight".

Leading up to the unveiling of his new roles in The Batman and Tenet, he explained that his breakout role as Edward Cullen has had repercussions on the rest of his career.

However, there's a fairly good chance that there is going to be a similar amount of buzz following the release of "The Batman".

Especially considering that Robert is playing Batman, himself.

But this time, it sounds like he will be prepared!

His experience with paparazzi since Twilight has conditioned him to be vigilant and better-dressed.

“I have so many terror memories of the paparazzi… and I still don full-on protective armour, hood up, hat down," he said.

He explained that nowadays, he's more self-aware about his outfit choices.

“I wish I could dress like A$AP Rocky, he just has serious style,” he confessed.

“We have been to quite a few different fittings together".

"And I will see the craziest thing and really want to wear it, but look like a total moron," he continued.

"Then we will go to the show and I will see Rocky in it and be like, ‘Jesus Christ, you can literally wear anything!’”

He added that as he's gotten older, he's not only more aware of his style, but skincare as well.

When you're in the public eye — cameras capturing your every move — it's only natural to want to look your best at all times.

“As I am getting older I’m definitely noticing things," he said.

"I used to not do anything at all, up until a few years ago, and I can definitely see the difference [in my face now], especially if I am traveling a lot.”

“It’s very American Psycho, but those sheet masks make a massive difference," he joked.

"I’m fully committed and I even put an eye mask on over the top too. Try it!”

“Self-care is important."

"I really appreciate coming home even though it's only for a few days, just to give my skin and body a rest," he concluded.

So, in case you were ever wondering how Robert Pattinson managed to achieve such a youthful glow — flattering even in the harsh light of a paparazzi's flash — there you have it!

Face masks go a long way, evidently!

Be sure to catch him wearing a different kind of mask in his upcoming film, "The Batman", coming to theaters on July 16th.
