This is probably why Garth Brooks fans were so quick to jump on their beloved country music singer for wearing the jersey.
Little did they know that "Sanders" is a pretty common name in the US.
He was playing at Ford Field, for 70,000 fans in Detroit, Michigan. It was a moment to honor not just Sanders, but Detroit in general. In his own words:
