Beauty Brands Are Using Their Facilities To Produce Hand Sanitizer In Response To Shortage

It seems that just over night, people were suddenly racing to drugstores and grocery stores to load up on bottles of hand sanitizer that they would have never given one thought to in the past. I have to be honest, I had to think where on earth the hand sanitizer aisle even was when I went on my own search. Once I had found it, gone. Not one bottle or travel bottle in sight. Hand sanitizer was once again a ghost on shelves.

Soon after officials began preaching the importance of washing hands and using hand sanitizer, there's been a shortage, so much so that even hospitals and other places that are in great need can't even order any.

Thankfully, many companies are coming to the rescue, beauty brands in particular.

L’Oréal will start using their facilities to make hand sanitizer and hydroalcoholic gel.

They're not the only beauty brand stepping in.

Luxury brand LVMH, Louis Vuitton's owner, will also be stepping in to help make hand sanitizer, according to BBC.

They'll be using the production lines of their cosmetics and perfumes to do so.

LVMH also said the supplies would be delivered free of charge to French hospitals.

These brands are definitely proving that hand sanitizer is a luxury right now.

Other facilities that also use alcohol are stepping in, too.

Like Eight Oaks Distillers in Pennsylvania.

In an Instagram post, the owners said that they're shifting their focus from spirits to hand sanitizer and household cleaners for those who need it the most in their community.

Kudos to everyone stepping in and showing their solidarity, compassion, and love for others in the community.

I wonder who will step in to the rescue next!
