Mom Removes The Makeup On Dolls To Give Them A More Natural Look

When I was a little girl I always wanted a Barbie mainly because of the way the doll looked. She looked so grown-up and mature. The same thing can be said about these Bratz dolls that kids play with these days.

The dolls have makeup, big lips, and skimpy clothes. So this one mom decided to give the dolls a makeover and it's really beautiful what she creates instead.

Sonia Singh from Australia is really an artist when it comes to restoring and upcycling old dolls and toys.

She removes the doll's makeup and gives them a new look.

She has done plenty of awesome recreations with Bratz dolls.

This mom gets rid of their unrealistic look to make them appear more natural, and quite frankly, more kid-friendly.

The result is that these dolls resemble regular children more than what they originally intended to.

I think what she does is actually a lot more beautiful.

Sonia uses discarded dolls that she finds in a variety of shops around Tasmania.

Then, she removes the makeup look and repaints the faces by hand. Wow, that's amazing.

She also molds new shoes and feet for the redesigned dolls and then gives them a good clean up.

So, they look like brand new toys indeed.

And get this, her mom actually knits and sews new clothes for all of Sonia's upcycled dolls.

Now the dolls are wearing clothes that are a lot more child-friendly.

Sonia created an Etsy shop called Tree Change Dolls where she sells all of her awesome new toys.

Judging by her five-star rating, people must be loving these dolls.

Here's a closer look at what one doll looks after her transformation.

Swipe to see how different she looked before. Isn't that absolutely amazing? I totally think so.

Sonia even helps other people makeover their own dolls.

She has an inspirational, downloadable PDF guide that will teach you to re-style and re-paint your own old fashion dolls.

Look at this sweet little girl who used Sonia's guide to "making under" or re-styling dolls.

She made one that resembles her little sister, too. Oh, that is precious.

I honestly think these re-styled dolls look so much happier now that they don't have a ton of makeup on.

You can see their true beauty shine through.

And I love the fact that the dolls get to wear clothes made with love.

Knitting is such a special way to give them a unique look. Don't you think?

I think it's important to give children a variety of toys to play with.

And these dolls are the true representation of what's really good out there in the world.

How do you feel about this idea of "making under" dolls and toys?

Is this something you would be happy to give to your children to play with?
