Buckingham Palace Source Insists 98-Year-Old Prince Philip Is 'Absolutely Fine'

Royal family fans were surprised by a news report that claimed Prince Philip had passed away amidst coronavirus fears.

Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Some of the information in this story may have changed since publication, and we encourage readers to use online resources from CDC and WHO to stay up to date on the latest information surrounding COVID-19.

The false reports began to swirl around on Wednesday.

Naturally, Buckingham Palace took it amongst themselves to clear up the rumours.

Speaking to the UK publication Express, "Telegraph" newspaper editor Gareth Davies said: "Source close to Buckingham Palace tells me he's absolutely fine."

Davies continued on Twitter: "I don't know what would possess someone to start a lie like that, but stop. It's weird and incites panic. We don't need that right now."

We're glad to hear Prince Philip is doing well!
