Ellen Degeneres is in hot water with fans for complaining about being "bored" and exaggerating how difficult it has been for her to be social distancing on social media, when there are literally "people dying".

Just like the rest of us, celebrities are on lockdown — quarantining themselves in their homes until it is safe to do otherwise again.
The one major difference is that celebs don't have to worry about income, food, and probably toilet paper.
All they have to do is stay inside. Easy enough, right?
Apparently not.

Some celebs, like Evangeline Lily, are choosing their freedom over people's health.
Then there was Vanessa Hudgens, who thought that the virus wasn't really anything to spend time worrying over.
"It's a virus. I get it. I respect it. But at the same time, like, even if everybody gets it, like, yeah, people are gonna die, which is terrible but, like, inevitable?" she said.
But thankfully, many celebs are staying home and doing their part in society.

Like Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, who are quarantined and even donating money to people who really need it.
Or Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, who are not only isolating themselves, but don't even get to be together right now.
"@daxshepard Got back from travelling on Monday. To be cautious, I asked him to stay at a friend's empty apartment for a bit to make sure he had no symptoms." she wrote.
All that to say: this quarantine thing is tough.
It's for the good of society, but for everyone who is used to seeing their family and friends, it's obvious that people can go a little stir crazy.
While some celebrities seem to be handling the quarantine period just fine, others are having a harder time coping.

Take TV personality, Ellen Degeneres, for example.
She has made it abundantly clear that she is struggling rn.
She has been sharing videos on Instagram, documenting just how bored she has been.

To an extent, it has been entertaining to watch Ellen FaceTime everybody she knows just to keep herself occupied and stay in touch with people.
"I called my friend @AdamLevine for his birthday," she captioned this one.
She seems to be keeping the conversations short and sweet.

OBVIOUSLY, she called John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. I saw this one coming a mile away!

Seems like all of Ellen's celeb friends are feeling the effects of being isolated from each other.
Anyways, some fans have found Ellen's incessant posting to be annoying and tone deaf.
It's fair to say that it's far too soon to be making jokes about the coronavirus, considering hundreds of people are dying because of it. But mainly, fans are finding Ellen's behavior to be the ultimate example of privilege.
This person commented, pointing out how absurd it is that Ellen has the audacity to complain about social distancing, when she has it so much easier than the majority of the world.
There are going to be people out there struggling to keep themselves fed and keep a roof over their head. Meanwhile, Ellen is complaining that she's stuck at home, having to talk to other really rich people over the phone instead of in person.
It definitely just goes to show you that rich people really do live in their own bubbles.
It's probably difficult for them to empathize with those who have valid struggles when they have it so easy.
This person chimed in, saying that none of us need to hear about how celebrities are handling being quarantined.
It does seem rather insignificant when you take into consideration that this is affecting people around the world on a much larger scale.
Other fans pointed out that there are people dying, and there are people that are going to go without income for an undetermined amount of time.
Unlike Ellen, who probably has enough money to never work another day in her life and still live in the lap of luxury.
Some people mocked Ellen, explaining that it's impossible to feel bad for her when she's stuck at home in her MANSION.
How does one even get "bored" in a mansion?!
This person scolded her, and brought up a whole other scandal!
Back in the fall, Ellen revealed that she is friends with President George W. Bush, and fans did not take too kindly to that. And, evidently, they're holding a grudge.
Given the fact that there are so many lives being severely affected and even taken by COVID-19, it's definitely understandable that fans aren't feeling any sympathy for the rich and famous at this time.
