In 2012, Rihanna started the Clara Lionel Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization named after her grandparents that helps fund education and emergency response programs all around the world.

The foundation just announced a huge action taken towards aiding the fight against this pandemic.

The foundation announced that it "has provided $5 million to the following organizations to immediately mobilize a broad response working with on-the-ground partners that include Direct Relief, Feeding America, Partners in Health, The World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, the International Rescue Committee, and others."

The funds will support local food banks serving at-risk communities and the elderly in the US.

The money will also help accelerate the testing and care in countries like Haiti and Malawi, provide protective equipment for frontline healthcare workers, and distribution of critical respiratory supplies.

"We know that one of the most powerful weapons we have against COVID-19 is preparedness," their statement ended.

This is such an amazing act that will have such a huge impact on those fighting this pandemic from the frontlines, as well as the people most affected.
