Danny DeVito Begs People To Stay Home To Help Others Like Him

As the pandemic, COVID-19, continues to spread across the globe, celebrities are beginning to reach out to their fans, asking them to follow the measures recommended to flatten the curve.

Most recently, Danny DeVito reached out on behalf of his state's governor, urging people to #StayHome!

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last couple of weeks, you're probably well-aware of the strange, concerning times we're currently living in.

2020 is off to a very rocky start.

We are literally in the middle of a global pandemic. People are dying, people are panicking, and there's a rather confusing toilet paper shortage.

Gyms, bars, restaurants, and shopping centers are shutting down, sporting leagues are suspending their seasons, travel bans are being implemented, festivals and concerts are being postponed, even the 2020 Olympics is being postponed!

Basically life as we know it has come to a halt— and rightfully so — in an effort to slow down the spread of the virus.

Everyone is being asked to stay home and practice social distancing until further notice.

As you may also already know, COVID-19 is especially dangerous for the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.

While you may not necessarily fall into either of those categories, you could still unintentionally spread it to somebody who is.

So, it is important for everyone to work together to protect the people who are at risk.

Unfortunately, despite the death toll being over 17,000 and counting, there are still plenty of people ignoring the instructions of health care professionals, WHO, and the government.

Celebrities, and those in influential positions, have been taking to social media — spreading the word to stay home.

Like Sophie Turner, for instance!

"Here's the tea. Stay inside. Don't be [expletive] stupid," she said in an Instagram live stream last week. "Even if you count your freedom over... I don't know what is it, your health — I don't give a F about your freedom."

"You could be infecting other people, other vulnerable people around you by doing this," she explained. "So, stay inside guys."

Numerous other celebs have spoken out as well, asking their fans to follow their lead and stay inside.

Like Taylor Swift.

Taylor took to Instagram to single out the people who have continued living their regular lives, partying and hanging out in groups, asking them to start making "social sacrifices" for the rest of the world's benefit.

And Ariana Grande.

Ari expressed how surprised she was to hear that so many people are still being so careless — urging her followers to start taking this situation more seriously.

And Lady Gaga.

"So I talked to some doctors and scientists. It’s not the easiest for everyone right now but the kindest/healthiest thing we can do is self-quarantine and not hang out with people over 65 and in large groups," she wrote. "I wish I could see my parents and grandmas right now but it’s much safer to not so I don’t get them sick in case I have it."

Most recently, however, Danny DeVito sent out a message of his own, begging people to stay home to help him, and others like him who are also at risk.

On Sunday, New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, shared a video message from Danny, urging people to stay home.

"Hi everybody, it's Danny DeVito, and I'm asking you from the bottom of my heart — all over the state of New York — stay home," he said.

"I mean everybody. I mean, we got this virus — this pandemic, and you know, young people can get it".

"And they can transmit it to old people, and the next thing you know, I'm outta there."

I don't even want to imagine a world where Danny DeVito doesn't exist...

"So, governor Cuomo asked me to ask you, please, do us a favor, all of us, and stay home," he said.

"And not spread this virus around. Thank you."

"Watch a little TV why don't ya?," he added.
