Brian May Teaching Fans To Play Queen Classics While They're Bored In Quarantine

As the coronavirus pandemic rages on, keeping everyone stuck inside their homes day after day, people are trying their best to make the most of it! Like the lead guitarist of Queen, for instance, Brian May.

Celebrities — they're just like us!

As in, they're all stuck at home experiencing various levels of cabin fever. I'm sure we can all relate to that right about now.

It's not easy to isolate yourself from the rest of the world.

But it's forcing us to be more creative, and think of ways to entertain ourselves.

While some of us feel like we're on the brink of insanity (and by some of us, I mean me), others are using this alone time to their advantage.

By staying productive — reorganizing closets and pantries, learning new hobbies, picking up old hobbies, or exercising.

Since social gatherings are a no-go right now, the entertainment industry has taken a real hit.

Musicians and comedians have had to [postpone]https://crafty.diply.com/121263/post-malone-slammed-for-not-postponing-concert-due-to-coronaviru) tours, and film production for upcoming movies and TV shows have been put on hold.

Thankfully, however, we are fortunate enough to live in an era that is technologically advanced.

Meaning everybody can still have easy access to everyone else from a distance, and celebs are taking full advantage of that.

For example, Miley Cyrus started a series called "Bright Minded", where she live-streams conversations with different celebrities.

So far, she has spoken to Demi Lovato, Ellen Degeneres, Emily Osment, Bebe Rexha, Reese Witherspoon, Hilary Duff, Dua Lipa, and more.

Madonna has been sharing "Quarantine Diaries" from her home.

There has been no consistent theme with these clips. In some of them she's singing, in others she's talking, and in one she is typing on a typewriter while jazz music plays in the background.

John Legend has been live-streaming mini concerts from his home, featuring his wife, Chrissy Teigen.

"I feel like we're experiencing it together even though we're distancing from each other and we're helping each other get through it," he said.

Jon Bon Jovi has also been recording concerts from his home and sharing them on Instagram.

"Hey Chicago! Heard we’re singing and I wanted to join in," he captioned this.

It has basically been non-stop entertainment from celebs on social media these days.

So, even though we're all going stir-crazy, it's comforting to know that we're not alone!

ANYWAYS, I digress. The lead guitarist of Queen, Brian May, has been making his contribution to social media as well, by teaching fans how to play classic Queen tunes.

He launched what he is calling the “MicroConcerto” project last week, and so far, it's been a hit!

"MicroConcerto number 3! Bohemian Rhapsody," he captioned this one.

"This spontaneously turned into a 'Star Licks' type tutorial... as an experiment, really."

"I don’t think I’ll Ever try to do it this way again, though - because it was ridiculously time-consuming trying to put it all up on IG ‘Stories’," he added.

"Here’s a very rough potted version for posterity. Tell me how useful (or not!) it was. OK ?"

So, if you have ever considered teaching yourself a Queen song on guitar, why not learn from the lead guitarist himself?

Doesn't get much better than that.

Maybe, if we're lucky, this will catch on with other musicians as well!
