Indiana High School Honors Graduating Seniors With Billboard: 'We Salute You'

With schools all across the country canceling in-person graduation ceremonies as a result of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, many seniors have found themselves deprived of the experience of walking across a stage and personally being handed their hard-earned diplomas.

However, some schools are making a real effort to help their graduating students still feel celebrated and appreciated, even if they can't physically honor them with an entire ceremony.

Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. As local news outlet ABC 57 reported, teachers and parents alike were inspired to show seniors just how proud they are of all their accomplishments by featuring the face of every graduating student on a street-side billboard.

Greg Harris said, a sponsor for the 2020 graduating class, said the billboard was a collaborative effort to rally behind the senior class.

As he told ABC 57, “This was one of our creative options of letting the kids know we appreciate you, we salute you and we understand this is a very challenging way to finish."

The billboard is located at the corner of Ironwood Road and State Road 23 in South Bend.

The electronic display sifts through 17 different slides, each one featuring 16 pictures of Clay High School's graduating class.

Although these students won't be able to don a cap and gown and gown just yet, they can still know that all their hard work put towards getting to this point has definitely not gone unnoticed. All they have to do is go for a little drive to see that for themselves.
