Listing For 'Modest And Unassuming' House Turns Into Bizarre Rabbit Hole

Buying a house can be a lot like buying a car. In both cases, it's likely to feel like an exercise in trying to figure out what the friendly sales agent you're talking to isn't telling you.

Is there something seriously wrong with the house or the neighborhood that you'll need to get to the bottom of before it becomes your problem? Is it really worth what they're asking for? Is it haunted?

But while the answers to these questions are unlikely to reveal themselves on a house's listing page, one house was simply too weird on the inside to conceal.

So now, we can see all of the eccentricities behind this deceptively normal-looking place.

When Twitter user @frazierapproves was looking at house listings, he came across what seemed like an "unassuming and modest" place.

As he tweeted out, however, what he would soon discover was that he may have stumbled upon the greatest house listing of all time.

He thought that the yard was "somewhat surprising."

For me, the only thing that was surprising about this yard is that they didn't think people would notice how suspiciously old this photo looks.

I'm sure this is what the house looked like in 1995, but that was a long time ago.

Yeah, if you compare the windows in this photo to the last one, it's clear that this is what the backyard looks like now.

Considering how much the ivy has claimed this house, I'm guessing that there's a reason why the pool isn't in the shot.

But the house's true character isn't revealed until you look inside.

Again, the interior doesn't seem so strange at first. This neat, multi-level living room has a lot of personality and features both a lot of books and a towering mural dedicated to the wonders of space.

Were you to venture into the dining room of this house, however, you'd quickly learn just how nerdy the previous owners are.

Yes, this place has been designed to look like a space-faring command center or (given the surroundings "outside") a moon base.

That TV works, though. So even if this isn't your ideal dining room, you can at least comfortably watch something while you eat.

But even the eccentrcities on display there don't comapre to the beach room.

Yes, there's a room with walls painted to look like an oceanfront paradise that somebody apparently built a little hut in and added some plants.

Oh yeah, and I guess we should mention the fact that they dumped a massive pile of sand all over the floor. What?!

Oh and in case all that wasn't weird enough, this is what greets you when you step into the living room.

Zillow

Having said all that, if you live in Pittsburgh and somehow have an extra $160,000, it looks like this place is still available.

I guess it's up to you as to whether this place is a dream come true or somewhere you would never live in a million years.
