I loved to color when I was a kid. Seriously, there wasn't one coloring book (or wall in our house) that wasn't shaded in with my scrawls.
This usually happened when I was drawing a picture of my best friends. I grew up in a multicultural neighborhood and kids of all cultures went to my school. But their skin tones weren't always represented in my crayon box.
It's called "Colors of the World," and it's a box of 24 crayons that represent different skin tones from 40 cultures around the world. There's also a box of 32 that includes eight classic colors for eyes and hair.
Not all light or dark shades are the same, so these crayons range from extra light to very deep shades, including rose, almond, and golden undertones.
Victor Casale, CEO of MOB Beauty and former chief chemist and managing director R&D of MAC Cosmetics, knows how important it is for everyone to feel represented through color.
"As a product formulator for complexion products, I have witnessed the feeling people show when they find their skin shade. It gives them a sense of being acknowledged and represented," he said to Good Morning America.
They'll be available on Walmart.com and Crayola.com. Head over to the Crayola website to pre-order a box.
