'Lucifer' Cast Member Answers Fan Questions On Twitter About Upcoming Season

The popular biblical Fox drama series, Lucifer, is coming to Netflix for its fifth season, and to say that it is highly anticipated would be a huge understatement.

Since an exact release date has not yet been set, the cast of the show has been answering fan questions in the meantime about what they can expect from the upcoming season.

If you've watched the Fox drama series, *Lucifer*, then you are probably painfully aware that you were left on a major cliffhanger at the end of season four.

Since then, the show was picked up by Netflix, and will premiere its fifth season there.

If you haven't seen *Lucifer*, here's what you need to know:

IMDb

The show premiered its first season back in January of 2015 on Fox, and has since become a major hit developed quite the fan base!

The story is based around "Lucifer Morningstar" AKA, Tom Ellis, AKA, the devil.

He abandons hell to pursue a life in Los Angeles as a nightclub owner. He later becomes a regular consultant for the Los Angeles police department.

He becomes particularly close with Detective Chloe Decker, almost acting as her informal partner.

Lucifer, Chloe, and the rest of the supporting cast (including Kevin Alejandro, D. B. Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, and Rachael Harris) make for an addictive, binge-worthy series.

Anyways, while fans know for sure that they can expect to find the next season on Netflix instead of Fox, they haven't set a date yet — which is, of course, driving people crazy.

Chloe Decker, played by Lauren German, recently mentioned on Twitter, however, that she will be announcing the exact release date very soon.

In the meantime, to appease the fans who have been patiently waiting, a cast member has done a little Q&A via Twitter about what is to be expected from season five.

IMDb

Season five is especially important, as it is supposed to be the final instalment of the series.

“Will there be any swearing involved in season five? There’s something in me that just needs to hear Chloe swear," one fan asked.

IMDb

“I don’t believe that Chloe swears in season five. There may be a few curse words from other characters (oh my!)," Lauren responded.

“I do all my filthy awful offensive dirty vile tawdry unacceptable real life cursing off camera," she added.

IMDb

Her answer piqued the interest of another fan, who then asked when season five is going to be on Netflix.

“I wish I could tell you all that are kindly and eagerly asking: I/we/they have no idea what the release date is for #lucifer season five," she said.

IMDb

She explained that the only thing she does know about season five, is that it is going to be divided into two parts — like, two separate seasons.

“All I know is season five is being broken into two parts - like two seasons. An announcement will be made at some point. Thank you," she wrote.

IMDb

It has already been confirmed that season five is going to be longer than all of the other seasons. Netflix has decided that the last season is going to go out with a bang — 16 episodes.

Showrunner, Ildy Modrovich, also announced that each episode will be about an hour long instead of previous episodes that had a 45-50 minute runtime.

IMDb

Not long after Lauren's tweets regarding season five, fans were speculating on Twitter what the fate of the show will be since coronavirus brought production to a halt.

Ildly also tweeted, assuring fans that they can expect a premiere date to be announced shortly.

IMDb

"I hope I don’t get in trouble saying… the premiere date is coming SOON!!! Like… soon soon. #Finally," she wrote.

“Sorry all of the cast are being asked the when question. Fans are becoming anxious to see S5a being stuck at home," one fan tweeted at Lauren.

“Questions should be directed at Netflix and Warner Bros. instead since they hold the reins. You have been gracious with your gentle answers!”

Unfortunately, neither Netflix or Warner Bros. have commented on *Lucifer's* upcoming season.

But fans can likely expect at least the first eight episodes to make their Netflix debut before the end of 2020.

Are you excited for the fifth season of *Lucifer* to make its grand debut on Netflix later this year?

Hopefully, if we're lucky, we won't be waiting too much longer to find out the release date!
