People Are Upcycling Retro TVs Into Stylish Cat Beds

I don't know about you, but I've been scouring Facebook Marketplace a liiiiiiittle bit too much these days. Okay—a lot. Listen, I can't resist looking at antique and vintage furniture. I just can't, and if I had the space, I would purchase all of it! It's times like these I'm thankful that I live in a micro apartment.

If you're like me and happen to come across a retro TV in your search that needs a little loving, don't scroll past it—consider creating a super cute and unique cat bed from it.

Your cat deserves a stylish abode just like you, and upcycling a mid-century TV into a cat bed certainly does the trick.

I mean, I'm sort of jealous...

Not only does the TV function as a comfy bed for your cat, but it also adds some extra dimension to your decor.

And when your cat nestles inside the now-hollow screen, it looks like you're watching a sleeping cat on TV.

We all know how entertaining cats are!

There aren't any specific instructions out there on how to create a cat bed from those wooden mid-century TVs, but there is one for this smaller style, and I'm sure it's a pretty similar process.

If you're interested, follow Instructables user davee930's tutorial.

I'm not going to lie, it requires a lot of careful unscrewing of parts, but it's so worth it in the end!

Fill it up with a comfy cushion and decorate it with your cat's tastes in mind! The retro TV world is your oyster.

If you love the idea but aren't interested in DIYing your own, you can buy a retro TV-inspired bed from Etsy seller QubiPetBeds for around $65.
