In the trailer for their special, Mike discusses how he "always wanted lots of kids," but Carrie was less certain.

"I was never good with other people's kids. Why would I be good with one of my own?" Carrie asks, laughing.

Things changed after the birth of their first son, Isaiah.

"I went with Isaiah after he'd just been born and I was just emotional as could be," Mike said.

"I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm in love,' " Carrie explained.

However, the couple have revealed that between Isaiah's birth and the birth of their second son, Jacob, Carrie suffered three miscarriages that obviously took a heavy toll on them.

Mike recalled how he reacted when he learned about the miscarriages.

"She's like, 'I lost the baby.' And I was like, 'Again?'" Mike reveals, while Carrie tears up beside him. Mike goes on to explain, "You have all these mountaintops, but we hadn't had a ton of valleys like this."

"I just had an honest conversation with God," Carrie went on.

"I was hurt. I told him how I felt."

The couple are now happy parents to two beautiful and healthy baby boys.
