Solid Proof Why It Is Literally Impossible To Hate Patrick Stewart

Patrick Stewart is one of the great actors of the age, and he is beloved by all it seems. He's responsible for some of the most memorable television, film, and theater performances of all time.

But beyond his acting talents, Patrick possesses an innate likability.

See for yourself and check out these 10+ reasons why it's impossible to hate Patrick Stewart.

1. His love for poetry and his desire to share it with his fans.

Since the time that the quarantine began, Patrick has been reading one Shakespearean sonnet a day via his Instagram.

Shakespeare wrote 154 Sonnets in his lifetime, hopefully, we'll be out of quarantine before that!

2. Patrick was a vocal supporter of the #MeToo Movement.

"The way male superiority has become part of our lives is very subtle and complicated. But it exists, and it’s now changing—some think not quickly enough. I’m excited by what’s happening around me and the impact it has on women’s careers and self-respect."

3. He loves animals and has a soft spot for Pit Bulls.

"Pit bulls are our obsession, but we can’t keep pit bulls because they’re banned in England. I’m part of a campaign working to get that changed, because it’s ludicrous. It’s nothing to do with dogs; it’s about the owners."

4. Patrick is a true Thespian and one of the most renowned Shakespearean actors alive today.

Patrick has played nearly every single character in The Bard's canon.

His most renowned performances include MacBeth, as well as Claudius in Hamlet.

But he still doesn't take himself too seriously...

Patrick made a guest appearance on Sesame Street to do a short parody of Hamlet's 'To Be or Not To Be' soliloquy. As you might have imagined, in this video Patrick is quite literally talking about the letter 'B'.

5. His bromance with fellow *X-Men* star, Sir Ian McKellan.

"Gay men have played a part in my life as colleagues and friends, but none so significantly as Ian. I love him and I’m in love with him. So is my wife, and it’s mutual."

6. He's inspired some of the best memes that the internet has to offer.

No doubt you've likely seen the classic Picard "face-palm". There are countless others, each one more hilarious than the last.

You can take a look at some of the best ones here.

7. He's never too old to fulfill his childhood dreams.

Patrick wrote via Instagram "Since I was a child, I’ve fantasized about keeping bees, and I finally am."

This literally sounds like mine and many peoples' worst nightmare. But you just keep on doing you, Sir Patrick.

8. He was selected to be an official Torch Bearer for the 2012 Olympic Games.

"Carrying the Olympic torch for the 2012 games was unbelievably exciting. I never would have thought that would happen to me," Patrick said in an Instagram post.

9. Patrick is a Knight in real-life.

Patrick was incredibly humbled, calling it an "an unlooked-for honour". In his speech, he emphatically thanked his childhood English teacher:

"Although many people in my life have had great influence on me, without this man none of it would have happened."

10. He's in the Guinness Book of World Records!

Patrick (along with Hugh Jackman) holds the record for the longest career as a Marvel superhero.

He played the role of Charles Xavier for 16 years, 228 days. How amazing is that?

11. Patrick loves to sing, especially Cowboy classics!

In order to help raise money for the International Rescue Committee, Patrick reinvented himself as the country music aficionado P Stew.

You can listen to five songs, but my personal favorite is the theme song from Rawhide!

12. He treats his body like a temple, even at 80 years old!

How many 80-year-olds do you know that have a body like that? Patrick is a beacon for body positivity and a statement for the value of personal fitness.

Of course, a few daiquiris here and there never hurts either.

13. He said he was applying to become a U.S. citizen so that he could "fight Trump."

When asked why he was applying, Patrick replied,

“Because I want to be an American, too. All of my friends in Washington said: ‘There is one thing you can do. Fight, fight; oppose, oppose.’ But I can’t do it because I’m not a citizen.”

14. Patrick was a one-time chauffeur for The Beatles.

Patrick said in his comment:

"@PaulMcCartney let me drive him and Jane Asher in his Aston Martin DB4 from Bristol to Bath. I was an actor in regional theater and drove a Ford Popular at the time (google it) so this was a real thrill for many reasons."
