Elmer Fudd Will Not Have A Gun In 'Looney Tunes' Reboot

Looney Tunes was a huge part of so many of our childhoods. There are so many iconic features — the use of classical music, Bugs Bunny's trickster antics, the oft-debated rabbit season versus duck season, and, of course, lovable characters.

One iconic feature of the show will not be returning in the new reboot, and in the current climate, it makes a lot of sense.

*Looney Tunes*' resident hunter, Elmer Fudd, is known for many things.

While being a bit bumbling and often falling for Bugs' pranks and tricks are certainly some of the things Elmer is known for, his penchant for using his hunting rifle to try to exact revenge is probably the most iconic of the bunch.

That rifle will not be making an appearance in the reboot.

“We’re not doing guns," Peter Browngardt, the show's executive producer revealed. " “But we can do cartoony violence — TNT, the Acme stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in.”

That stuff was always more entertaining than the guns anyway, in my opinion!

He revealed that not all episodes they've made so far are necessarily PG, even without the use of guns.

“Some of [the episodes] have maybe gone a little too far, so they might come out in a different format,” Browngardt said. “Maybe they’ll come out packaged for an Adult Swim type of thing.”

Looney Tunes after dark? I'm here for it!

You can watch a preview for yourself right here.

In this clip, shared by the Warner Bros. TV YouTube channel, Elmer Fudd chases Bugs around with a large scythe instead of his gun, and it works just as effectively, in my opinion!
