10+ DIYs To Makeover Your Space In Just A Few Days

Sometimes, the only thing holding us back from our next great DIY is time. There never seems to be enough time to do all the amazing projects we want to do — am I right, or am I right? If you find yourself strapped for that precious time, I have good news. These projects can all be done in three days or less!

Paint your furniture. All of it.

Okay, not the fabric. But if you're tired of the standard Ikea white and black/brown, why not try out some new shades on your furniture? Chalk paint is about to become your best friend for that, trust me.

Not only can you do this in a few days, you don't have to shell out a lot for it. Cute frames can easily be found for very little money at Ikea, Home Goods, or the good 'ol dollar store.

Get rid of those freestanding shelves and mount your shelves on the wall.

Bookcases are fine, but you don't have to put up with "fine." Ditch those cube shelves and pick up some that you can mount directly on the wall. Go for unexpected shapes to really change things up!

Opt for a slipcover.

Wayfair

Slipcovers are yet another great way to add color to a room without paying out big time for new furniture. They are way nicer than they used to be, too — they're not your grandma's slipcovers.

Make your own wall organizer.

Turns out, this isn't as hard as it seems! Following this tutorial, you can create your own place to hold all your extras, from kitchen utensils to office accessories!

Paint it up.

The Sorry Girls

This one goes without saying, so let's shake it up a little! Sure, you could paint a whole wall. Or you could paint half a wall, or do an accent piece! See? Variety!

Deck the halls.

With some frickin' plants! It's time to turn your house into a small indoor jungle. Or to add a few plants here and there for some greenery. Either way.

It's time to go through all your junk and start organizing it into piles — keep, throw away, give away. Donating things you don't use will help cut down on the stuff that ends up in landfills.

Get into removable wallpaper.

It's cute, it's stylish, it makes a huge impact, and it's incredibly affordable compared to regular wallpaper. Do a small wall, half a wall, or even a piece of furniture!

Grab some peel-and-stick tiles for a backsplash...

There's no easier way to cover up an ugly backsplash than with peel-and-stick tiles. Renters can easily remove them when they move out, and home owners can pop them off when they're ready for a change!

...Or your floor!

Ugly floors are the bane of everyone's existence when it comes to home decor, let's be real. Cover up ugly floors with some gorgeous peel-and-stick tiles that can be easily removed!

Swap out all your textiles.

Patchwork Cactus

Sometimes, shaking up your space is as easy as switching your pillows and blankets out. It's also a sneaky way to add color to a room without committing to putting it on your walls.

Why not try making your own pillow covers?

Macrame some new hanging planters.

FTD

It's time to get vertical with your plants. Macrame is an incredibly useful and easy skill to learn, so why not pick it up and make yourself some new, unique homes for your plant friends?

Try out stenciling.

If you don't want to do wallpaper, why not paint instead? Adding a pattern doesn't have to be hard (or scary) when you use stencils. Just make sure to bring some patience, too!
