Papa Cat With Two-Colored Face Has Pair Of Kittens Who Match Each Side

There is something about "chimera" cats that really tickles people's interest. All cats are beautiful in their own way, but we are so used to asymmetry being the norm in nature that a perfectly straight line down a feline's face is fascinating.

Chimera cats are relatively common, since they are simply the result of two embryos merging in the womb to create a kitten with cells from two different sets of DNA. In fact, most tortoise shell cats are chimeras.

But occasionally, the two sides line up perfectly along the feline's face.

Narnia the cat is famous for the stark difference between the colors on his face, but according to his human, Stephanie, testing revealed that he only has a single strand of DNA. This means that he's not a true chimera and his unique pattern is a mystery.

Narnia is a resident of the Chatterie de la Grâce, a fancy cat breeder based in Britain.

Though he has been the father of a number of litters with his lady friend, Bella, one pair of kittens brought a whole new round of viral attention to the cattery.

You see, these kittens were born perfectly matching each side of their father's face.

How cute is that? Though they have their mom's eyes, they clearly take after their dad.

The gray kitten is Phoenix, and the black one with the perfect matching white patches is Prada.

While Phoenix has since gone on to his forever home, Prada stayed with the cattery family.

She'll be staying with her dad and her extended family, helping to pass on his unique genes to future generations.
