Dog Has Emotional Reunion With His Favorite Neighbor Who Just Beat Coronavirus

Caitlyn Clancey 21 Jun 2020

A Massachusetts dog was understandably overjoyed when he was finally able to reunite with his best pal who he hasn't been able to see for the last two months.

In a heartwarming video posted to his official Instagram account, Paul the labradoodle can be seen rushing to greet his favorite neighbor, Christopher Gregorio, for the first time since the 79-year-old tested positive for coronavirus.

Paul knows to look for Chris whenever he's taken on a walk past Cumberland Farms market in South Boston.

Ever since he was a puppy, Paul's been greeted there by the elderly man who's always more than happy to offer some hearty pets and tasty treats.

But that delightful daily routine came to a stop when the coronavirus hit back in March, and Boston went into lockdown. Suddenly, Paul couldn't see his best friend any more.

As it turns out, Chris fell ill with the deadly virus when the pandemic first began.

For two months, he was unable to come out and give treats to any of the local dogs, Paul included. So every time he walked around that corner at the market, the 1-year-old pup was disappointed that his best bud wasn't there waiting for him.

But at the end of May, Chris was declared virus-free and was able to return to his spot outside the market.

According to Daily Mail, Paul's human, 33-year-old Alli Pearce, first noticed Chris was back while she wasn't with her dog.

Naturally, she ran home to get Paul and bring him back so he could finally reunite with his favorite person.

And thankfully for us, Alli filmed the whole thing.

In the video shared to Paul's Instagram, the pup becomes visibly excited as he spots Chris, who eagerly greets the pup at their usual spot.

"Paul!" he exclaims, giving the dog plenty of pets and even letting him jump up on his chest. "Where you been? I missed you!"

Chris then made sure to give Paul some treats which he had lined up on a window ledge, all ready to go for him.

The video of the heartwarming reunion has gone viral online, with nearly 50,000 views and over 8,000 likes. In the comments, thousands have expressed their joy at witnessing these two finally be able to interact again. But one thing's for certain: no one is more ecstatic about the reunion than Chris and Paul.

"I've known Paul since he was a little puppy," Chris told Daily Mail. "He's always jumping on me, putting his paws on me. So, seeing him, it just made my day."
