Paris Jackson Opens Up About Being Michael Jackson's Daughter: 'You Forget I'm Human'

Growing up as the child of a celebrity must be difficult especially when you want to establish your own name and talent in a similar field. When your father is one of the most iconic musicians of all time, that must be even more difficult.

Paris Jackson has opened up about her experience growing up as the daughter of Michael Jackson.

Paris Jackson was only 11 years old when her father passed away.

Paris has been open about how his passing has affected her life and her career in the past, but it's clear that she's ready to really open up.

In a trailer for her new Facebook Watch series, Paris opens up about wanting to follow in her father's footsteps but often feeling in his shadow.

The trailer begins with a shot of a young Paris speaking to her dad.

When her dad asks, "What does Paris want to be?" the young Paris replies, "I do what you do. You dance and sing."

"You see a kid grow up in the public eye, you forget that I am a human," Paris adds in a voice-over.

"I was against letting the world in because it wasn't a choice."

"I wasn't ready then. I feel like I'm ready now."

"I would love if my music connects with someone and helps in some way," Paris explains of her music career, but adds that there is definitely "the whole pressure to follow in my dad's footsteps," and that she's often "compared to him and scrutinized."
