The First Trailer For 'The Handmaid's Tale' Season Four Has Dropped

Sometimes, the only thing we need to get through our day is good news and good updates from our favorite shows and movies. Whether it's Lucifer getting a sixth season or Chicken Run getting a sequel, sometimes that good news is the highlight of our day.

The highlight of my day today will definitely be the fact that we got a little taste of the upcoming fourth season of Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale.

Season 4 of *The Handmaid's Tale* is probably still pretty far away.

Asked about how much of the show had been filmed before the pandemic shut down production earlier this year, Elisabeth Moss revealed to Extra, “We were only two weeks in, so we actually have an entire season to shoot."

“We want to go back to work because families have people to support and rent they need to pay."

"But at the same time no human’s life is worth a TV show. We’re just trying to figure out how to do it safely for everybody," Elisabeth revealed.

The fourth season had already been delayed once before.

The original delay was also for a pretty good reason.

It was initially pushed back when Margaret Atwood released a follow-up novel, The Testaments, in September of last year, which show editor Wendy Hallam-Martin said "will dictate a lot of what happens in the next season."

Even though there's a lot left to film, Hulu still surprised us all and dropped a trailer for the fourth season on YouTube!

The trailer immediately starts with some good news — Moss' June survives her gunshot wound she was given at the end of the last season.

“I can’t rest,” June says in the trailer. “My daughter deserves better. We all deserve better. Change never comes easy. This war isn’t going to win itself.”

"It isn't safe anywhere," adds another character.

“These women deserve to be helped, but I can’t do this alone,” June says, giving this show a much needed dose of optimism.

Things don't look totally hopeful and great for June, though, as Aunt Lydia says “She is out there planning who knows what kind of atrocities to visit upon our righteous nation."

"I never allowed myself to see her for what she really is: beyond redemption.”

Fans are obviously hyped.

"I’m living for the amount of fight that this trailer puts me in. Gives me goosebumps. Last season was the spark. This season is when it really goes down. And I’m totally here for it," one fan tweeted in response to the trailer.

Some fans were a bit disappointed about the wait.

Season 4 won't premiere until 2021, which lead to one fan saying, "Next year??!!! Come on @hulu give us a break, 2020 has been horrendous and we’re only halfway through! Surely we have earned the new season sooner than that??"

Others understood why the wait was necessary.

I don't know about you, but having the rest of this year to build up anticipation for Season 4 kind of makes me even more excited than I would normally be!

How are you going to manage the wait? Let us know in the comments!
