Chrissy Teigen Drags American Airlines For Selling Middle Seats During Pandemic

Chrissy Teigen has never been someone who takes anything sitting down, whether it has to do with her or not.

In this case, she slammed American Airlines for not practicing proper social distancing on their flights after a tweet went viral from Senator Jeff Merkley.

Fans immediately rallied behind her (as they tend to do) and the airline has been getting backlash ever since.

With the pandemic in full swing, corporations had to make some tough decisions on how to come back from the hits they took.

Since everything was closed for months, they're looking for ways to rebuild quickly.

American Airlines is no exception apparently, as they are selling middle seats on their flights, which doesn't allow social distancing.

After Senator Jeff Merkley tweeted about what was happening on the flight, Chrissy Teigen was quick to jump in and slam the airline company.

The company has been receiving backlash ever since, and they have responded.

When ET Canada asked *American Airlines* for a comment, a spokesperson replied:

“We are unwavering in our commitment to the safety and well-being of our customers and team members,” the statement reads.

"We have multiple layers of protection in place for those who fly with us, including required face coverings, enhanced cleaning procedures, and a pre-flight COVID-19 symptom checklist — and we’re providing additional flexibility for customers to change their travel plans, as well."

"We know our customers are placing their trust in us to make every aspect of their journey safe, and we are committed to doing just that."
