Chris Hemsworth Says He Will 'Put On More Size Than Ever' To Play Hulk Hogan

In case you didn't know, actor and stud muffin Chris Hemsworth is very, VERY in shape. Of course, this makes sense as he is a star in the Avengers universe as the hunky hero, Thor. Chris has truly beefed up for his roles in the past, but apparently that was CHILDS PLAY as Chris is now gearing up for his role as iconic wrestler Hulk Hogan.

Ah, Chris Hemsworth. A hero. The people's prince. A truly dedicated actor and athlete.

Are those words I would use to describe wrestling legend Hulk Hogan? Absolutely not! But as it turns out, the joke is on ME for that one, BROTHER!

That's right! Chris Hemsworth is set to play Hulk Hogan in an upcoming movie about the pro wrestlers rise to fame in the 1980's, or the peak of HULKAMANIA, I should say!

The unnamed film will be directed by the Joker's Todd Phillips, so it's sure to be a hit!

In a new interview with "Total Film" Chris made it clear he is taking the role super seriously and knows he must undergo a MAJOR physical transformation!

"This movie is going to be a really fun project. As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical," he told the publication.

"I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for *Thor.*"

"There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude," he continued.

"I will also have to do a deep dive into the rabbit hole of the wrestling world, which I'm really looking forward to doing."

"I haven't even seen a script yet. The project is deep in development. Todd Phillips and I met to chat about it maybe a year or two ago. We talked about the idea for the film, which I think was going to be a TV series at one point," Chris explained.

"There were a few different ideas about what portion of his life it was going to be set in, so we spitballed about what it could be and what I thought it might be. Thankfully, they ran with a few of those ideas and the script is in the process of being written - but Hulk Hogan is still quite a way away."

We cannot WAIT to see this movie!
