Amber Riley Calls Out Fans For Disrespecting 'Glee' Cast During Search For Naya Rivera

It is always difficult when mourning a loved one choosing whether to share that grief publicly with others or to keep it private, and that difficulty must increase dramatically when you're a celebrity and fans are often waiting for you to speak out on difficult and hurtful situations.

Amber Riley has stood up for the Glee cast in these tragic circumstances.

On July 8th, it was announced that *Glee* star Naya Rivera had gone missing and was presumed dead from a drowning accident.

"Show some respect. All our energy is going toward helping find Naya and praying for her safe return and for her family," Amber tweeted the day before a body was recovered from the lake where Naya went missing.

Amber emphasized that they all were devastated.

"No one owes anyone online a performance of grief. This is very real and devastating. Focus on Naya and her family. Not us. We don’t matter right now," Amber wrote, reminding fans of what and who were really important at this time.

Amber's statement came shortly after *Glee* star Lea Michele deleted her Twitter account.

Many fans believe that Lea deleted her account after receiving abuse during this situation, as Lea and Naya had tension in the past and had not gotten along during the filming of the show.

Lea has not spoken about this tragedy at time of publication.
