Courteney Cox Is Returning For The 'Scream' Reboot

I know we're all a little bit tired of remakes, reboots, and sequels to popular movie franchises, but there's something undeniably exciting about finding out that one of those franchises might be getting some fresh life breathed into it to end up with an equally good final project as the initial movie itself.

It looks like the Scream reboot might be one of those lucky franchises!

Courteney Cox is a seriously iconic actress.

Of course, we know her best as Monica on Friends or as Jules in Cougar Town, but she also was fantastic in Ace Ventura, Bedtime Stories, and Family Ties.

She was also a part of one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time.

Obviously, I'm talking about *Scream*.

Courteney's work in Scream as Gale Weathers is almost as iconic as her baby bangs, which kind of look stylish now, if you ask me.

Now that the Scream series is being rebooted, you may have thought that Gale would be a thing of the past.

However, it's been confirmed that Courteney will be reviving her role for the new film!

“We can’t imagine Scream without the iconic Gale Weathers and are so incredibly thrilled and humbled to have the opportunity to work with Courteney. We’re absolute mega fans of her work and we’re so excited to join her in the next chapter of the Scream saga!” Deadline reports from the filmmaking group Radio Silence that's behind the new film.

Courteney also shared the news on her Instagram.

Sharing the iconic visage of Ghostface, Courteney wrote "I can't wait to see this face again."

Neither can we!
