Quotes For When Your Motivation Pool Has Sprung A Leak

So I took a few days off to give myself an extra-long weekend, and sitting here now, I’m not sure I can say whether I accomplished much of anything.

On one hand, that’s actually good, because what’s the point of time off from work when you just stress yourself out doing everything around your home? Then again, if I’d caught up on my chores while I was off, I wouldn’t have to fold laundry at some point today.

Now that I’m thinking about it, I think I left my clean sheets in the dryer… three days ago.

Oops.

It’s just that when I get stressed out, motivation is hard to come by. So I take time off to unwind, but “relaxing” just becomes another task on the to-do list.

It’s tough, because once you have to actively decide to relax instead of doing the dishes, relaxing is just another chore.

Oh, is my neighbor going to rev his motorcycle engine all evening while I’m trying to chill out and watch TV? Then I am far more likely to be motivated to mow my lawn, probably around 8 AM.

Over time, I’ve learned to just get the stuff done *first*.

It mostly works, but if that hour doesn’t happen, all bets are off.
