Quotes For When The Doctor Isn't Always Right

I had the very strange experience recently where for my regular check-up I was actually able to tell my doctor that I had lost weight.

Don't get me wrong, it felt great, but also sort of weird to not be talking in circles to admit that yeah, I should cut down on the sweets a bit, without actually admitting that last night's dinner was a Dairy Queen Blizzard.

What can I say? I am a firm believer that if you are craving a dessert, you should just eat that dessert.

Forcing yourself to "earn" it by eating a healthy meal first is just extra calories. The fact that you had a lean chicken breast and some salad isn't going to negate the fact that you followed it up with an Oreo Cheesequake Blizzard with extra stuff.

It's the Diet Coke paradox, but with way more sugar and fat.

I'm still eating that Blizzard, but at least I'm honest with myself about it and do my best to eat smaller, healthier meals otherwise.

Since I've lost weight, my doctor can't get on my case about that anymore. So, hah!

She does, however, still prod me about the whole exercise thing.

I just do not like the whole thing of exercise as a hobby or routine. Oh, I walk my dogs and try not to sit on my butt all day, but working up a sweat is Not For Me.

You know what is For Me, though? Carbs.

And cheese.

Seriously, they are my kryptonite and though I try to at least moderate my intake, my doctor will have to pry my lasagna out of my cold, dead hands.
