Outside of what we've seen of him in his iconic roles in Love Actually and The Walking Dead, getting to know Andrew Lincoln hasn't been easy. Since he doesn't have social media, fans haven't exactly been able to keep up with his personal life.
So, here are some interesting facts about him that you probably didn't know!
I mean, I guess he doesn't need to watch The Walking Dead since he literally lived it.
But it's still definitely surprising to know that he hasn't seen a single episode of his own show!
This explains why he's never seen The Walking Dead. But in an interview with TV Insider back in 2017, he revealed that after the first time he watched himself on-screen, he vowed to never do it again because it made him painfully aware of his own face.
This ultimately, defeats his mission as an actor: "To be in the role and not be self-conscious."
In an interview with Women's Health, Andrew was asked what he thinks the ultimate cure for heartbreak is, to which he suggested:
"Travel. As in, get as far from the person who broke your heart as possible. It could be anywhere, as long as it's far."
In an interview with Women's Health, he explained that his ideal first date isn't going to the movies and not speaking for two hours.
It's something adventurous, outdoors, and if it involves food, even better!
"I love the South. I got called out by my mother-in-law the other day for saying 'from the get-go.' Which wasn't terminology I ever used years ago. Maybe I am turning into Rick Grimes," he told Esquire.
"You know, Steven Yeun [who plays Glenn] generally gets lots of teenagers professing their undying love, and I just get people dressed as me, which is very unsettling and quite weird," he revealed to Rolling Stone.
He revealed to Independent UK that he had always felt a personal connection to Dumbledore's character.
He thought he would be able to naturally pull off a younger version of the character if given the opportunity.
“In one of the most romantic movies of all time, I got to play the only guy who doesn’t get the girl… I got to be this weird stalker guy," he told EW.
“Retroactively, I’m aware that Andrew’s role was on the edge. But I think because Andrew was so openhearted and guileless, we knew we’d get away with it.”
In an interview with Esquire, when notified of the rumors that have been floating around of a possible Love Actually sequel, Andrew quickly got on-board with the idea, admitting that he would "love" to reprise his role.
When asked by Women's Health if he believes in love at first sight, Andrew replied:
"When I met my wife, we were on and said, 'Who the hell is that?' It could have been infatuation at first sight. It worked for me."
Being from an entirely different continent made working quite difficult, as it meant he also had to be away from his family a lot of the time.
As his children got older, he realized that it was becoming more difficult to spend time away from them, ultimately leading to his departure from the show once and for all.
In a Comic-Con Q&A, he revealed that developing and refining his Georgia accent wasn't easy!
He had a dialect coach who would write sentences down for him phonetically to help him master it, and he would need to maintain the accent even when the cameras stopped rolling so that he wouldn't lose it.
"Lincoln" is actually just a stage-name!
He was born on September 14th, 1973 in London, England, with the name Andrew James Clutterbuck. Evidently, he didn't find that name to be catchy, so he changed it for the sake of his acting career.
Many musicians and actors come from families that pursued careers in similar industries. As they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! But in this case, it did!
Andrew's mom was a nurse and his father was an engineer.
