Mr. Rogers' Widow Joanne Doesn't Want Trump In Her Neighbourhood: 'He's Just A Horrible Person'

Mister Rogers' wife Joanne Roger is getting candid about her thoughts on president Donald Trump.

While her husband was known for his neighbourly kindness and calm demeanour, Joanne is not afraid to speak her mind and go all kinds of unneighbourly on Trump.

The 92-year-old spoke openly with The Daily Beast about the president's visit to her husband's hometown of Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

Recently, President Trump made a visit to Latrobe, Pennsylvania to host a rally.

For nearly two hours, Trump spoke in front of a large, unmasked crowd and urged them to vote twice.

"Sign your mail-in ballot, okay? You sign it & you send it in & then you have to follow it. And if, on Election Day or early voting, it's not tabulated and counted, you go vote," he suggested.

This is, of course, illegal.

Now, Joanne Rogers is speaking out about the president's visit to her husband's hometown.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, Joanne didn't hold back.

"I think he’s just a horrible person," the 92-year-old admitted.

"Mr. Trump seldom tells the truth. If he does, it’s just a fluke, I think."

"But the fact [is] that I can’t believe anything he says, not even the simplest thing.... This man is pathologically ill. Mentally ill."

Joanne told the publication she would go into mourning if the president was re-elected.

"I can’t even imagine," she said. "I would feel so badly."

She then proceeded to give her endorsement to Joe Biden: "I think he’s kind. I think we all need somebody like Biden who can give us little pats on the back."

This is not the first time Joanne has spoken candidly about her thoughts on the president.

Speaking with The Los Angeles Times last year, Mrs. Roger's explained she hadn't been political until Trump came into office.

"I want to vote for whoever is going to beat Trump," she told the publication.
