Amy Schumer Opens Up About Lyme Disease Diagnosis

Lyme disease is no laughing matter. The disease, which is transmitted through deer tick bites, causes a rash as well as fever, chills, fatigue, body aches, headaches, and stiffness. Chronic Lyme disease can result in even more severe symptoms.

Some celebrities like Justin Bieber, Avril Lavigne, and Yolanda Hadid have been very public about their experiences with Lyme disease, and it looks like Amy Schumer is joining their ranks.

Amy Schumer has had a lot going on lately.

From the trials and tribulations of new motherhood to learning to cook on camera to documenting her struggle with in vitro fertilization, Amy has been pretty busy.

Her latest announcement is not a new project or a new story, but rather a new medical diagnosis.

Amy revealed on Instagram that she has been diagnosed with Lyme disease.

"Anyone get LYME this summer? I got it and I'm on doxycycline. I have maybe had it for years. Any advice? Can you have a glass of wine or 2 on it? I know to stay out of the sun," she shared alongside a picture of herself as a child.

"I'm also taking these herbs from cape cod called lyme-2. Please comment or text me on my number in my bio," Amy said.

"I also want to say that I feel good and am excited to get rid of it."

Her comments section was immediately flooded with those who wanted to help — we're sure Amy is grateful for that!

We wish her a speedy and total recovery!
