Man Offers 'Rent A Daddy' Service On Facebook To Single Moms For $30/Hour

Being a parent is a lot of hard work. Think about it: You're basically responsible for the livelihood and the outcome of actual human lives. We try out best to be great parents, but sometimes it's just really difficult to "win" every day. If you're a single parent, the job can be twice as hard, as you fill the role of both parents every day.

Single parents have one of the toughest jobs in the world.

Single parents have to raise kids on their own and also maintain their household. Many single parents have jobs on top of raising kids at home in order to pay their bills and make ends meet.

Whether it's calling on friends to babysit or carpool from time-to-time, there are many times when parents are looking for extra help with childcare duties.

According to statistics, most single parent households happen to be single mothers.

According to census data, 25% of U.S. families are headed by a single parent, and 80% of single-parent headed households have a mom as the sole parent.

Jake James of Blue Haven, Australia came up with a pretty funny, but not so ridiculous, idea that may help him earn a few extra dollars while also helping single moms out there.

James, who is a trucker professionally, wanted to "get a break" from his work and decided to create a "Rent a Daddy" ad that he posted on Facebook.

“Trying out a new career move to get away from trucks so everybody get [on board] and support your boy. Rent a daddy today," he wrote. It's as hilarious as it sounds.

The services he offers are things that many single moms are looking for.

For a low fee of $30 per hour, you can rent James to be your stand-in daddy to your kids. It includes one-two weekends per month, activities of the kids' choice, sporting event attendance, and even daycare drop-offs and pick-ups!

James even offers some "extra" perks for a higher fee.

He said that he will also do, "... family parties and functions, family selfies with your kid, and even Facebook status updates," all for an extra fee. Just in case you were looking to make other people jealous, and all.

Moms all over found the post to be insanely funny.

Many moms said that they thought it was hilarious and said they would consider him as a "babysitter." There were even some single dads who asked if he'd help them out, too!

While it seems that James' Rent A Daddy business was mostly a joke, his post did manage to go viral with plenty of people willing to take him up on his offer.

Clearly, James has quite the imagination.

For side hustles and side gigs, being a "Rent a Daddy" is not something that everyone would come up with. But, who can say that this is a bad idea?!? It's definitely a high-need market. Good for him!
