10+ Facts Fans Didn't Know About Candace Cameron Bure

There are a lot of places you might know Candace Cameron Bure from.

Maybe it's the '80s sitcom, Growing Pains or the '90s one, Full House. Or may you caught the actress finding love on the Hallmark channel or reprising her role as DJ Tanner on Fuller House.

Either way, it's time to get to know her on a personal level with these 10+ facts.

1. Kirk Cameron is her brother.

While Candace was on Full House growing up, Kirk was working on another popular sitcom: Growing Pains.

He played Mike Seaver from 1985 1992. Their careers merged when Kirk appeared on a 1988 episode of Full House.

Same thing happened for Candace, who appeared on Growing Pains.

Her role as Jenny Foster on the show even helped her land the role of DJ Tanner on Full House.

"I had done a few things," she recalled to Today. "And then when they were casting 'Full House' two years after that, then they were like, 'Oh, it's Kirk's little sister.' And they saw a couple episodes of 'Growing Pains' that I was on."

2. She took her on-screen Full House boyfriend to prom.

3. She has been married to her husband, Val, for 24 years.

Their love story goes all the way back to when they were just teenagers.

They were introduced in 1994 by Dave Coulier, AKA Uncle Joey, from Full House.

"We were looking at these two cute men on the ice, and I was like 'I wanna meet that one, the blonde one,' which was Val," she told Us Weekly.

It had a whirlwind romance after that, as they got engaged within a year and got married on June 22, 1996.

4. She has three kids.

She had her eldest, Natasha when she was 22. Two years later, came a son Lev and then another son, Maksim.

Having kids hasn't changed married life too much, as Bure told OK Magazine that she and Val get frisky even if the kids are home.

5. She's a Hallmark movie star:

She's been a staple for the network since 2008 when she starred in Moonlight & Mistletoe.

She had been filming the latest Aurora Teagarden film for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, when production got shut down due to COVID.

Her religious beliefs and conservative stance on politics may rub some people the wrong way, but she stands firm in what she believes.

Age hasn't slowed this star down. She'll find time to work out, even after long days on set.

"So if I can get in 10 push-ups here and there, do a couple squats while I’m waiting in line for something, that’s what I do," she told Fox News.

8. She almost wasn't in Fuller House.

That's because the reboot almost didn't happen!

“Funny enough now all the networks had passed on the show and the Netflix was our very last pitch," she told All Mom Does.

She continued: "They took the show and we were all so excited when they did and everything had worked out for us to get back together and do it."

The cast was able to make five seasons of the show, but it's sadly not coming back for a sixth one.

The final season was announced in January 2019.

The actress competed on Season 18 of the star-studded show and came in third.

Candace, along with her husband, have owned and operated Bure Family Wines in 2006.

They fell in love with wine-making after visiting Napa Valley. "We couldn't believe this place exists," her husband told Wine Spectator.

She, too, is a "fan-girl." She told Us Weekly that she clammed up when she met Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lopez, and Kevin Costner.
