16+ Pics We Had To Do A Double-Take To Figure Out

Since I spend all my time on the internet, I like to think that I've seen it all...when it comes to stuff on the internet, at least.

Still, it isn't like I'm totally unfazed by everything I see. There's still stuff out there that has the power to make us look twice.

Only in England.

Everyone knows that English people will go postively wild for a nice cup of tea and a biscuit.

Now they've got a mug — with a clearly designated biscuit pocket — to make teatime really count.

Its own world.

Someone spotted this downspout in Seattle. Rather than going straight to the ground, the pipes meander around a bit, giving these little patches of greenery a spot to thrive.

Every which way.

This copy of Frank Herbert's sci-fi classic Dune has a clever logo on the front. The stylized letters have been designed and placed in such a way that the cover will always say 'Dune' from every possible angle.

So cute.

Yes, this is the Royal Mail's new electric delivery van. No, you're not allowed to play with it no matter how much it looks like an adorable toy.

Escher?

If you look at this pic long enough, you'll eventually figure out the angles. Still, from this angle, the whole things kind of looks like it should be impossible.

Clear skies ahead.

The view in the mirror shows a classic California sunset with the sun lighting the sky in an orange glow. But the view ahead looks like it was taken on a different day.

Not forgotten.

This vintage dollhouse TV featuring the World Trade Center is a reminder of how the meaning of images change.

Back then, the image was shorthand for "big city." Nowadays, it's a reminder of something we've lost.

Life finds a way.

This view, taken down the neck of a discarded beer bottle, shows how life can flourish if you give things water, protection, and time to grow.

Who wants a blurry mug?

The more I look at this pic, the more it blows my mind. Why does it always look blurry? Why can't I see it for what it is: a wall of mugs?

Better lock the doors.

In some parts of the world, seeing random baboons is a daily occurrence. In other parts of the world, it appears that giant baboons are part of the equation.

Wait, what?

Look, I get the principle of those Halloween costumes with fake arms or legs. But, this isn't one of those costumes. At least I don't think it is.

Always with their herd.

I had no idea this was a thing, but I guess some trucks — particularly when they're transporting livestock — have built-in doghouses so the herding dogs can hitch a ride with the herd.

It belongs to the tree now.

I guess a sapling grew up through the middle of the tire, eventually reaching its current size. Soon enough, that tire will be even more of a part of the tree than it already is.

Thor?

This cute crosswalk sign in Århus, Denmark pays tribute to the area's Viking heritage. It's way better than the lame little walking person pictogram you usually see.

Knitted with care.

This is one of those particularly loud doors. Someone crocheted a darling cover for the brick that's used as a doorstop to dampen the noise. I wonder if it actually helps.

Whoa.

It looks like a setpiece from a video game set in the near future but this is actually a real-life art installation, made of wire mesh, by Italian sculptor Edoardo Tresoldi.

Makes sense.

The controls to recline the seat in this Jeep look, well, exactly like a mini version of the seat itself. This is the kind of intuitive design I can get behind.

The king of interior design.

Look, I have no beef with Budweiser but it's hard to imagine someone being passionate about such a regular beer.

Well, evidently someone's passionate enough about Bud to make it the basis of their interior design.

Bumpin'.

I thought this was an unusually soft and curved boombox but it's actually a package of toilet paper. Why this exists is a question for another day.

Is it all skin?

Apples tend to give you helpful visual feedback: when you bite into one, seeing white flesh means you've gotten to the good stuff. In this case, the flesh is the same color as the skin.
