Video Captures Crowd Booing Trump And Chanting 'Vote Him Out' At Supreme Court

In addition to feeling the immense loss of an iconic champion for the rights of women, mourners of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg are also widely feeling anxiety about the political implications of her passing.

Not only does the question of how any potential replacement will treat the rights of American citizens remain, but concerns also exist regarding how the balance between opposite ends of the nation's political spectrum will now exist on the Supreme Court.

The feelings underlining those concerns weighed heavily on those who paid their final respects to Ginsburg as she laid in repose on September 23 and 24. And as we'll see from the full video, they came out in full force when President Donald Trump made an appearance at the memorial service.

Before her scheduled burial at Arlington National Cemetery next week, Ginsburg's remains were laid in a casket bearing the American flag outside of the Supreme Court Building.

As CNN reported, the White House confirmed that he would attend the memorial on September 24 and he appeared, as promised, in the company of the First Lady.

However, he was immediately greeted by a chorus of loud boos as soon as he arrived.

As one attendee named Tiarra Keeton told Buzzfeed News, "One group started and then we all kind of joined in together because, you know, I feel like it's disrespectful for him to be here, quite frankly. You feel the same way about her that you felt about John Lewis, that you felt about John McCain, so keep the same energy."

As Trump fidgeted in place, this booing eventually gave way to a series of chants.

Towards the end of the video, one that can be heard the most clearly is "vote him out," which built up as more chanters joined in before all voices present appeared to say it.

Although it's not as clearly heard in the video, the crowd also chanted "honor her wishes" at the president.

This was likely a reference to what NPR reported Ginsburg as saying to her granddaughter: "My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed."

However, it has become clear since Ginsburg's passing that this is not what either Trump nor other Republicans have in mind.

As Buzzfeed News reported, Trump is scheduled to announce his nomination on September 26 and the GOP appears to have every intention of confirming a new justice before the election takes place.

CNN reported that some of Trump's advisers suggested announcing his nomination earlier but Trump indicated a wish to pay his respects to Ginsburg before doing so.
