While the exact date of this is a little blurry, Beyoncé previously told Seventeen that they met when she was 18.

Going by this, that put their initial meeting somewhere between September of 1999 and August of 2000.

They were friends for over a year before they started dating.

After meeting for the first time in 2000, they didn't jump into things right away.

Instead, the rapper told Oprah that they got to know each other via phone. "That foundation is so important for a relationship," he said.

2. They have matching tattoos.

The photo is blurry, but you'll see the Roman numeral for the number four (IV) in red ink.

The significance behind it is that they both love the number four.

For instance, they were both born on the fourth of the month (Sept. 4 and Dec. 4, respectively).

That's not all.

Bey has an album titled "4," while her husband has one titled "4:44". So the number has a lot of significance.

3. They finally went public in 2004.

After years of are-they or aren't-they speculation, the couple finally made their love public.

They did this in a typical celeb way by making their red carpet debut at the 2004 MTV VMAs in Miami together.

4. They won a Grammy for "Crazy in Love".

While they first collaborated musically in Jay’s “03 Bonnie and Clyde," their hit "Crazy in Love" really cemented them as music royalty.

The lyrics made note of them as a couple and it won the Grammy for Best R&B Song.

5. They got married inside Jay-Z's apartment.

As two of the richest people on earth, the couple could have sprung for an over-the-top extravagant wedding.

But instead, they kept things small with a ceremony inside Jay-Z's New York City with only 40 guests.

Bey later opened up about the super-secret nuptials.

“There was no rush — no one expected me to run off and get married,” she told Seventeen.

“I really don’t believe that you will love the same thing when you’re 20 as you do at 30. So that was my rule: Before the age of 25, I would never get married."

6. Jay-Z did, in fact, cheat on Beyoncé.

Yep, Becky with the good hair is real.

While her identity hasn't been confirmed, the rapper did admit to his infidelity in a 2017 interview with The New York Times.

Speculation that Jay-Z cheated first swirled after Beyoncé released her "Lemonade" album.

“[Early into the pregnancy] I flew back to New York to get my checkup—and no heartbeat. Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat."

8. The couple now have three healthy children.

They welcomed Blue Ivy on January 7, 2012, and then had twin boys, Sir and Rumi, in June 2017.

"We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over," they wrote in the twins' pregnancy announcement.

9. That infamous "elevator" footage was alledgely about Jay-Z's cheating.

It was the video seen all around the world: Beyoncé's singer, Solange, attacking Jay-Z in an elevator.

After it went viral, the couple released a statement about what happened.

"Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred," it began.

Soon, rumors began that Solange was mad at her brother-in-law for cheating on her sister.

Later, Bey referenced the incident in “Flawless (Remix)," singing: "Of course sometimes [expletive] go down when there's a billion dollars in an elevator.”

10. They got to meet Prince Harry and Meghn Markle.

It was basically the double date the world had been for when the royal couple attended the London premiere of The Lion King (Beyoncé voices Nala).
