Stray Pit Bull Protects Missing Boy Until He's Reunited With His Family

A young boy who recently became separated from his family in Mississippi was thankfully located safe and sound. But surprisingly, he wasn't alone.

As FOX 2 reported, Kh’amorion Taylor was found Thursday morning in St. Louis in the company of a stray pit bull who appears to have been guarding the youngster until he could be reunited with his family.

It's unclear how it happened, but at some point in the early hours of the morning, Kh’amorion had wandered away from his home.

An unnamed neighbor was walking her dogs through the neighborhood when she found the boy walking around in his pajamas in the company of the protective pup.

And based on how he looked, she didn't see any reason to suspect a neglect case.

“He looked well taken care of, he was very neat, very clean; he just didn’t have the shoes on,” the woman recalled to FOX 2.

She immediately got to work to try and find the boy's family and to make sure he made it home safely.

“I knocked on the doors up and down the street," the woman said. "Knocked on the doors, no answers; no one who did answer, they didn’t recognize the child."

Although she pressed on, the neighbor's luck didn't seem to get any better.

She spent hours trying desperately to reunite little Kh'amorion with his family, but her search was turning up zero results.

However, the situation wasn't quite as hopeless as it may have appeared.

Thankfully, the boy's dad recognized a photo of his son on social media and immediately got in contact with the neighbor who'd found him.

The pair have since been reunited.

As the woman told the outlet, “It is important that we stick together, that we help each other, that we go back to the things that our grandparents and their community used to do."

As for the dog who stuck by the boy's side, it appears the two formed quite the bond during their time together.

FOX 2 reported that while he was being reunited with his dad, Kh’amorion kept repeating "puppy," and was even able to give the dog some grateful pets before heading home.

According to the outlet, local police might be adopting the hero pittie.
