Ashley Graham Says Mom-Shamers Are 'Just Mean Girls Who Grew Up To Be Mothers'

Mom-shaming is almost unavoidable when you're a celebrity parent, whether it's well-intentioned and aimed to educate or whether it's just nitpicking someone with a platform.

Ashley Graham has come out hard against mom-shamers in a new episode of Red Table Talk with fellow celebrity moms Jada Pinkett Smith and Jessica Alba.

Ashley Graham is a supermodel, activist, and all-around beauty.

Ashley is also a first time mom, having given birth to her first child, a son named Isaac, in January.

Like most celebrity parents, Ashley is no stranger to being mom-shamed, and has opened up about her experience in a new interview.

Talking with Jada Pinkett Smith and Jessica Alba, Ashley compared her experiences being body-shamed with being mom-shamed.

“It’s interesting because my whole career has been based around body-shaming because I’m a curvy girl who has come into a skinny world and said that my body, and other bodies like mine, need to be normalized,” Ashley said.

“I knew that it was coming and I was ready to combat it, but it never feels good to have someone tell you that you’re not doing a good enough job; that you’re doing something wrong."

"I can sit here and tell you that I just brush it off, but I don’t brush it off,” Ashley said, but then clarified that she believes most mom-shamers online are "just mean girls who grew up to be mothers."

Jessica Alba agreed with that sentiment.

"I’ve come to this place where I realize that most people who have something to say, it’s because they’re so insecure and it’s more of them being ashamed of themselves, being overly critical," Jessica added.

We love to see these celebrity moms stand up for themselves!
