No matter what you do as a parent, someone on the Internet has an opinion on it. Whether it's Jada Pinkett Smith homeschooling her children or Ashley Graham being shamed for breast feeding in public, there'll always be someone who disagrees with parenting decisions.
Actress and model Coco Austin is the latest celebrity to have her parenting choices criticized on Instagram.
It can result from even the most innocuous of posts, like when Jessica Simpson shared this photo of her husband holding a car seat with a blanket covering their baby, Birdie, inside.
Not a big deal, right?
Wrong.
Fans flooded Jessica's comment section with criticisms that the baby would be too hot or not be able to get enough air.
It's not always babies that trigger that mom-shaming instinct in the internet. Sometimes the kids are much older.
Fans criticized Kourtney for letting her daughter wear this piece of jewelry for fun, and many commenters even thought it was a real piercing!
Sometimes the shaming comes from activities as sweet as sharing a kiss with your child.
On top of that very bustling resumé, Coco is also the wife of rapper and actor Ice-T. The two share their beautiful daughter, Chanel Nicole, who was born on November 28, 2015.
Coco recently found herself at the center of some shaming when she shared a few photos of her daughter on her Instagram.
When Chanel was four months old, Coco took her to get her ears pierced. Many people on Instagram thought this was too young, and they didn't shy away from telling Coco how they felt.
However, some fans defended Coco, writing, "I got my ears pierced as a baby and guess what, I SURVIVED! I had no trauma about my ears getting pierced whatsoever!"
After sharing her latest photos of her daughter, Coco was on the receiving end of some similar comments.
"Always got a lover girl by my side!" she wrote alongside the pictures. Two of the photos in question involved Coco kissing Chanel on the lips.
Some fans in the comment section found this objectionable and didn't hesitate to say so.
"This feels very overly sexualized..." another commented, while yet another fan asked, "Isn't she a little old to be kissing her on the mouth?"
Not everyone was against Coco's expression of love with her daughter, though.
"I kiss my 3y/o son on the lips and people find it odd but he's my baby!" one fan wrote in defense of the star.
