Bekah Martinez Defends Putting A 'Girly' Bow On Her Son After Backlash

No matter who you are, people are pretty much always going to have some unsolicited opinions about how you should parent, but that goes double when you're a celebrity with a large audience. Former contestant on The Bachelor and current influencer, mommy blogger, and podcast host Bekah Martinez is speaking out against those who think they know how she should parent her children.

Bekah Martinez, best known for competing on *The Bachelor*, is a mom of two who frequently shares pictures of her children, Ruth, 1, and Franklin, 3 months.

Bekah shared this adorable shot of Franklin to her Instagram recently, captioning the picture "FALLing for you more each day."

Some people in the comments immediately took issue with Bekah putting a bow on her son's head, with one fan writing, "I'm confused is Frank a boy or girl? Did i miss something?" and another adding, "He’s such a cutie, but nix the bow please!!"

Bekah took to her Instagram story to reply.

"Do I do things like this sometimes to rile people up? Sure, I love to see them mad. Don't get it twisted," Bekah began.

"But with leg hair, with putting Frank in a bow, with whatever the hell else I post, I also want to challenge people's ideas of what's right or wrong, or what you should or shouldn't do," Bekah continued, referencing the frequent pushback she receives for not shaving her legs.

"I think in this particular instance, I think we should normalize being able to put boys in bows and things that are girly," Bekah went on.

"What the [expletive] is girly about a bow? It's literally just a piece of ribbon or fabric tied in a certain way. That's dumb. Anyway, that's all," Bekah said, but was sure to point out that most people didn't care about the bow.

"And I love that most people didn't say a thing about it!"

"That actually makes me way happier than hundreds of people getting upset," Bekah concluded.

We think Franklin looks adorable, bow or no bow, and we love to see Bekah standing up for herself!
