8+ 'The Lorax' Mistakes Fans Didn't Notice

I'd forgotten how much I love thisThe Lorax movie is an incredible reimagining and does the Dr. Seuss animated short, as well as the children's story, justice beyond measure.

As incredible and enjoyable as it is, they did manage to make a few noticeable errors. See for yourself with these 10+ The Lorax mistakes that fans didn't notice.

1. Who took Ted's orange juice away?

Poor Ted; getting caught smooching a cereal box by your own mother is no way for anyone to start the day.

For this first mistake, pay close attention to the carton of juice right in front of Ted's mother.

As Ted gets up from the table, the carton of juice is noticeably absent from the frame.

Perhaps the carton feared that Ted might turn his affections to yet another inanimate object? The juice did have a front-row seat to Ted's makeout session with the breakfast cereal, after all.

2. The throttle on Ted's bike switches sides.

Watch Ted's hands as he makes his way back to meet the Onceler. At this point in the film, he cranks the throttle with his left hand to accelerate.

But later on in the film, when Ted is driving around with his grandmother, the throttle is on the right!

3. What happened to the big dancing bear?

Have a look as the Onceler begins unpacking his carriage and starts to sing his song.

If you scan the audience of dancing bears, you'll notice that one stands out from the rest.

All of a sudden, he completely vanishes from the shot!

When the camera changes angles to show the disgruntled looking bears, all of a sudden the big one is nowhere to be seen.

If you look in the top left of the image, you'll see him dancing into the frame.

4. What happened to the 'O'?

Who doesn't enjoy being forced to play board games with their family? I know I sure do.

Have a quick look at Ted's grandma's letters: L-O-R-X-B-R, right? Keep watching and remember those letters!

Poof! It's gone, as if it were never there to begin with.

Can I buy a vowel, please? If you keep watching as the scene unfolds, you'll notice that the 'O' magically reappears once the camera zooms out.

Pretty weird, don't you think?

5. The flowers by the Onceler's feet seem to move around.

This is one of my favorite scenes in the entire movie.

Have a look at the ground by the Onceler's feet, do you see the grouping of white flowers?

Once the tree falls to the ground and the camera angle cuts, they completely vanish from sight!

Are the flowers alive? Did they pull their roots from the soil and decide to make a run for it?

That's pretty well the only thing that could properly explain what we're seeing here.

6. Ted's goggles keep switching positions.

When Ted makes his second visit to the Onceler's house, he's thrown from the porch after ringing the doorbell. As you can see, his goggles are flipped around.

If you keep looking after the camera cuts away, you'll notice that they somehow flip frontwards without explanation.

7. Something's going on with the Lorax's stump.

The Lorax comes bursting onto the scene right after the Onceler chops down his first truffula tree.

After he's shot out of the stump, he lands hard on his head directly in front of the stump.

So how in the heck is he all of a sudden sitting right beside it?

A little strange to say the least.

The Lorax also looks to be sitting much closer to the stump than he was in the previous frame.

8. Where did the bag of marshmallows come from?

Ted's bike doesn't leave a lot to the imagination. There certainly aren't any visible storage pouches or saddle bags.

So how on earth did he manage to produce this bag of marshmallows out of thin air?

9. The Onceler's guitar repairs itself.

The Onceler's guitar has seen better days. If you look at the middle of the neck, you'll see that it's literally held together with a white shoestring.

As he begins to wail in the next scene, the shoestring is nowhere to be found.

10. Spelling always counts.

Nothing infuriates me more than spelling mistakes. It's 2020 and spell-checking software has been around for decades!

So how on earth does a movie manage to misspell the word "commercial"? It just doesn't make sense.
