When you're a celebrity, gambling must be a bit weird. When you already have more money than you know what to do with, it must feel a bit strange or even selfish to try to win more, even if it's a hobby you enjoy.
Nicolas Cage found a way to spend the winnings from the last time he ever gambled that was totally selfless!
The star of Face/Off, Ghost Rider, and City of Angels is an actor and a filmmaker, but there's one thing he's not: a gambler.
In a new interview, Nic revealed that last time that he had ever gambled ended in a huge amount of charity.
"My game was roulette. I went in with $200, and I didn’t miss a number, so much so that even the lady spinning the wheel said, 'Nothing sweeter than a repeater.' In 20 minutes, I turned $200 into $20,000, so I went and found an orphanage in the Bahamas, met all the kids and the headmistress, and said, 'This is for you.'"
What an amazing gesture that we're sure that orphanage greatly appreciated, and what a high note to end your gambling career on!
We're happy to hear that even when he's being incredibly charitable, Nic Cage is still a quirky guy!
