'Halloween' Celebrates Its 42nd Anniversary

Is there any better way to spend the spooky season that is late October than by watching scary movies? Whether you're someone who prefers the more gentle Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus or a true horror horror fan, there's nothing like a Halloween movie to get you in the holiday mood.

Especially when it comes to THE Halloween movie.

*Halloween* is one of the staples when it comes to horror movies.

Not only did it introduce us to the ever creepy slasher Michael Myers, it also spawned one of the longest-running horror franchises of all time, with Michael scaring, stalking, and stabbing victims for over four decades.

The original *Halloween* came out on October 25th, 1978.

That means that this year, the movie is turning 42 years old.

What better way to celebrate the movie's special day than by giving it a watch, so close to the actual Halloween?

We can't believe it's been 42 years since the movie that kickstarted Jamie Lee Curtis' career!

Will you be watching the film (or marathoning the series) to celebrate this anniversary? Did Michael Myers ever give you nightmares? Let us know how you feel about these movies in the comments below!
