The Dude abides!
We mean, uh, Jeff Bridges abides!
Actually, they're kind of the same thing at this point, so pick whichever one you like better. Jeff has just shared a new update on his cancer battle that is both super inspiring and also, like, exactly what the Dude would say in his position. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.
Best known for his role as The Dude in The Big Lebowski, Jeff has also been nominated for seven Academy Awards, winning one for his work in Crazy Heart and being recognized for his roles in True Grit, Hell Or High Water, The Last Picture Show, The Contender, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, and Starman.
Not saying he's a big deal or anything, except, you know. He's just one of the most celebrated actors of our generation.
"Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good. I’m starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery," he tweeted, adding that he was grateful for all the love and well-wishes he was receiving.
He was definitely talking about us, right?
"I'm feeling so much of it comin' my way, & man, I appreciate it," he continued. "It's contagious, all this love, like some kind of positive virus."
We love that Jeff is getting so much love, and we super love that it turns out he's pretty much exactly like The Dude!
"It feels good getting all the well wishes & love!" he wrote. We bet it does! There's really no better feeling than getting love and support in hard times, and that includes free meals and getting to sleep in on weekdays.
"I'm realizing I have [expletive] to share," Jeff continued, using the time to share links to various environmental passions of his. "Trees, man," he went on, "gotta take care of our trees, they're us."
He's kind of lost us at the very end there, but we definitely love to see the support for the environment!
And we're also happy to hear that no matter what happens, even though the movie was (most likely) fictional, that The Dude abides!
