10+ Movie Fan Theories That Will Change Some Perspectives

Do you ever ponder the path not taken? I know I certainly have, especially when it comes to my favorite movies. Luckily, I'm not alone.

That's why I've compiled these 10+ movie fan theories that will change some perspectives. One thing is for sure, you'll never look at these films the same way again!

1. Morgan Freeman isn't God but Satan in *Bruce Almighty*.

A man's life and the world around him descends into absolute and utter chaos after he's given everything he ever thought he wanted by a supreme deity.

Doesn't that seem more like the devil at work than angels above?

2. Becoming a ghost in *Casper* is punishment.

When you become a ghost in the Casper universe, you forget all aspects of your life. Yet in order to get to heaven as a ghost, you must first complete your unfinished business.

That's a pretty cruel paradox.

3. The reason why Wesley is immune to Iocane powder in *The Princess Bride*.

Just how was Wesley able to survive his encounter with the Iocane? And where did his immunity come from? It came from the Dread Pirate Roberts!

Every night when he said "I'll probably kill you in the morning," he was actually poisoning Wesley's food

4. Tim Murphy from *Jurassic Park* and Owen Grady from *Jurassic World* are the same person.

Imagine this: Tim and his sister Lex are forced to change their names after their family is shamed and bankrupt. After a stint in the military, Tim (Owen) returns to face his past in the newly built Jurrasic World.

5. Kidnapping Santa Claus was a rouse to kill Oogie Boogie in *The Nightmare Before Christmas*.

User Forte_nss believes that Jack had much more diabolical machinations than we're led to believe. First of all, Why entrust the safety of Santa to the only people in Halloween Town with ties to Oogie Boogie?

Because Jack wanted them to get him involved.

That way, he would be justified in eliminating his only competition for the crown of Halloween Town.

Judging from Oogie's set up, Santa wasn't his first would-be victim. So why does Jack all of a sudden invoke morality?

Because by doing so, it allowed him to get rid of Oogie Boogie while allowing himself to save face with the townspeople.

6. Kevin McCallister from *Home Alone* grows up to be Jigsaw from the *Saw* franchise.

Think about it, Kevin does have an incredibly sinister thought process. He also is quite adept at building booby traps.

Is it possible that he could have grown up to become the infamous serial killer? The evidence is quite damning.

7. Simba caused the drought in *The Lion King*.

The Kings of the past live in the heavens. When Simba left Pride Rock, the Kings followed him. It cast the Pridelands into devastation, while Simba lived in a tropical paradise.

When he finally returns to his homeland, he brings the rains with him.

8. Hubie Dubois from *Hubie Halloween* and Bobby Boucher from *The Water Boy* are related.

There's more than just a few passing similarities between these two. The dialect is unmistakable.

Given Roberto Boucher's penchant for infidelity, it doesn't seem like it's too far off the mark.

9. Geppetto had a wife and child in *Pinocchio*.

Nearly everything adorning the walls in Geppetto's workshop is made for a child. All of the clocks depict hunting scenes.

Could his wife and child have died in a hunting accident? Is that why he wants a real boy so badly?

10. Peter McCallister from *Home Alone* has mob ties.

We never find out what Kevin's dad does for a living. Yet he somehow has enough money to fly his and his brother's family to Paris for Christmas?

Also, he seems noticeably uncomfortable when Joe Pesci was in the house, dressed as a cop. How come? What's he hiding?!

11. Nemo isn't real in *Finding Nemo*.

This popular fan theory posits that Nemo only exists in Marlin's mind. That he was killed at the beginning of the film, along with his mother.

To add fuel to the fire, the word Nemo is Latin for "no one."

12. Both Tigress and Po are the Dragon Warrior in *Kung Fu Panda*.

Tigress and Po function in harmony, like yin and yang. One cannot succeed without the other.

Tigress was raised to be great yet is humbled in her pursuits. Po, on the other hand, came from nothing and grew to be the greatest warrior in the land.

13. Col. Hans Landa knew about operation Kino in *Inglorious Basterds*.

Reddit user LordPassionFruit just might be onto something here.

Why isn't Landa surprised when he learns of Aldo's treachery? He even refers to the secret mission by its codename — Kino. Could he have been aware of what they were doing and waiting for the right moment to interject?

14. Jason is one of the Tethered in *Us*.

We all know the story of Adelaide, but this enticing fan theory argues that her son Jason is as well.

If you notice at the beginning of the film, Jason makes tunnels on the beach — not sandcastles. There's also that sadistic shared smile with his mother, right before he dons the mask at the end.
