Mom Delivers Fierce Clapback To People Who Shame Breastfeeding Moms

In today's society, although women have made great strides towards equality, there are still people who shame women for a number of things. For one, women who don't want to have children are often shamed and looked down on.

On the other hand, women who do have children and decide to continue working while raising kids are also shamed. And, of course, there's the tale as old as time of breastfeeding mothers being ridiculed for feeding their children in public.

It seems that, although women who breastfeed are simply just feeding their child, people still have a large problem with it.

No matter where you are or who you are with, there is always going to be one person that shames and makes a mother feel uncomfortable for feeding their child in public.

Many mothers report feeling "bullied" simply for doing something natural.

Reports indicate that many individuals "sexualize" the act of breastfeeding and bully mothers when they are feeding in public because they think that it's "gross" or "inappropriate."

Many mothers also report feeling uncomfortable when this takes place.

Any mom who is shamed or made out to be "wrong" for being a mother and doing what is best for their child has the right to feel uncomfortable or put off.

Recently, one mom decided to clapback at all those breastfeeding shamers out there.

Summer, a mom from Buffalo, New York, who runs the Instagram page @motheroffive, posted a photo of her breastfeeding her baby while her face is painted like a cow's. She wrote, "Is it acceptable now?" on the photo.

This isn't the first time Summer has been hilariously real about motherhood.

Summer's Instagram posts often explore topics related to breastfeeding and her own body image as a mom. Her posts range from funny to serious and introspective, but they are always super relatable.

Hilariously accurate, it seems that Summer's post shows a deep and almost disturbing reality for moms.

Summer, who captioned the post, "Milk Maker," speaks to the reality that most people drink milk from a cow, but when a mother is providing milk to her newborn, it's suddenly unacceptable and gross.

By dressing up as a cow, she sends a bold message.

If people accept that a cow can make milk for individuals, why can't they accept that a mother can make milk for her own children?

People online absolutely loved this post and idea.

Summer's photo was reshared by the Facebook page, Breastfeeding Mama Talk, where it got thousands of reactions and over 400 comments.

One person said that it's "totally natural" for people to be breastfed, opening up that many individuals in their family were breastfed and there's nothing wrong with it at all.

Another opened up about her own breastfeeding shaming experience.

One mom opened up that a woman at a garden center complained to security guards about her breastfeeding her child. She even said she feels, "... more women complain about it than men."

And, another mom said she relates to Summer's idea!

One mom shared her toddler's Halloween costume, where they both dressed up as cows because her 21-month-old is still breastfeeding. We love moms with an awesome sense of humor!
