10+ Wedding Cakes That Took Things A Bit Too Far

Planning a wedding is one serious endeavor. I know a little bit about that since I started to plan my own. One of the most crucial aspects of this affair, in addition to that perfect dress and a dream location, is the wedding cake.

After all, it's the one thing everyone looks forward to consuming. However, not all wedding cakes are created equal. Sadly, some fail to meet everyone's expectations.

1. This Sign Of Trouble

If you need to drag your husband-to-be by his neck to the altar, I've got something to say to you: I don't have too much confidence in this relationship going into the future, I'm afraid.

2. This Flavor Combination

Pardon me if I don't run to eat this wedding cake. After all, I can't say I've ever heard of combining Rice Krispies treats with Fruit by the Foot candy flowers. Come again? Who picked these flavors? You couldn't force me to eat that.

3. This Cake That Is Oddly Fitting For 2020

Any couple getting married in 2020, or who had to postpone their wedding, will get a kick out of this wedding cake. Needless to say, toilet paper is pretty much synonymous with the troubled year. But still, I'm not sure if I like it.

4. This Popeye's Recreation

Can you believe that somebody asked their baker to make them a wedding cake that resembles a Popeye's meal? All I can say about this is, why? Unless you're a real fan of this franchise, of which I am not.

5. This Creamy Fail

A plain white wedding cake adorned with flowers is such a classy look. Am I right? On the other hand, whoever made this one went a little bit crazy with the buttercream decorations. I do love buttercream but not that much.

6. This Topsy-Turvy Mess

Are you a fan of those topsy-turvy wedding cakes? I'll admit, I am. I don't know how anyone does them, but they sure look stunning to me. This one, however, is less than impressive. It's actually quite sad.

7. This Direct Message

Wow, when you put it that way, it makes it a lot more attractive. Would you create this for a couple of atheists? I guess it makes sense, but it isn't what I would have chosen.

8. This $400 Fiasco

Would you pay $400 for this wedding cake? I can, in all honesty, say that I absolutely would not. Not by a long shot. It looks like something a 10-year-old would slap together in a hurry.

9. This Subtle Message

Guess who made this wedding cake for the happy couple? The bride's mother, of all people. Are we talking about being subtle here or what? "I want four grandchildren, stat," is basically what this cake is saying. I hope they can at least laugh at that.

10. This Ageless Cake

As much as I love how intricate the design of this cake is, I must ask, is it meant for a 15-year-old? I mean, it seems a little immature to be a wedding cake. Or is it just me?

11. This Gold Mess

Apparently, the bride requested a gold wedding cake for her special day. I don't know if the baker is color blind, but this doesn't look like gold to me. Instead, it resembles puke-green more than anything.

12. This Wedding Cake Topper

OMG, I can't stop laughing at this wedding topper disaster here. This couple wanted to create something beautiful for their wedding cake. But unfortunately, the bride turned out looking like a creepy doll instead.

13. This Zombie Scene

Is it just me, or do you also think this isn't the most wedding-appropriate cake, huh? I mean, I do like the concept of it and the execution, but for a wedding? I think not. Am I alone in that?

14. This Topsy-Turvy Mess

Apparently, the cake on the left was what the couple requested, and the cake on the right is what they received. How is this even remotely similar? I guess it's still topsy-turvy, but not in a good way.

15. This Miserable Peacock Cake

It looks to me like somebody tried to make a peacock wedding cake. Only they forgot one thing — they don't know how to decorate. This awful disaster is going to haunt you in your nightmares.

16. This Naked Cake Fail

I can see why naked cakes are all the rage these days. Judging from the picture on the left, they can look so chic and beautiful. What happened with the other cake is a mystery to me. It's pretty sad, ha, ha!

17. This Skunke'd Cake

Seriously, is this cake for real? Not only would I not get this as my wedding cake, but I wouldn't want to try it as a wedding guest either. Is it just me, or is it not appetizing at all?

18. This Apparent Cake Mishap

If you think the above cakes were a disaster, get a load of this story. This baker put the cake in a large storage container and drove an hour and a half to the venue to deliver this disaster. Yikes!

19. This Odd Choice For A Groom's Cake

I don't know about you, but I think this is an odd choice for a groom's cake, no? Unless the entire wedding guest list is dressed up as storm troopers or rebel fighters, lol.

20. This Oyster Cake

Am I seeing what I'm seeing? Are these oysters on this wedding cake? Here I thought I'd seen all odd cake-topping choices but I guess I was wrong. I sincerely do hope it doesn't actually taste like oysters, though.

21. This TMI Cake

Is it just me, or is this cake a little bit "TMI" for you? If this is how the couple describes their relationship, I wish them all the luck in the world. It looks like they're going to need it, lol.

22. This Classy Cake

If you're looking for something unique as your wedding cake, please don't get this. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to get a piece of this train wreck on my plate on any given day.

Looking at these wedding cake disasters makes me realize just how important the cake selection is.

I mean, it can be a total winner, or it can be a complete mess. I, for one, am hoping for the former, ha, ha!
