There are very few celebrities in the world that are loved by everyone, and Alex Trebek was one of them. So many of us grew up watching the man every single evening on Jeopardy! to the point where he felt like family.
After his passing on November 8th, many decided to share their memories of Alex and his impact on the world, which extended further than just our television screens.
The longtime host of Jeopardy! was celebrated not only for his talent at his job but also for his warmth and compassion off the screen.
When it was announced on November 8th that Alex had lost his long battle with pancreatic cancer, many took to social media to share their memories of the man he was, including the Laurel Canyon Land Trust.
"He donated 62 acres of land in the Santa Monica Mountains in Nichols Canyon to create the Trebek Open Space. This was not only a gift to urban Angelinos who thirst for open space and outdoor activity, but a gift to native animals such as our local Mountain Lions that require large amounts of open space in order to survive," they shared.
"Thank you Alex Trebek and may you Rest in Peace," the post finished, which also included photographs of the Trebek Open Space.
What an amazing gesture from an amazing man! Rest in peace, Alex!
